The Side-mount Mini course is designed for the diver wising to switch from a single tank/recreational configuration to a side-mounted, double tank kit. The classroom session includes: tank rigging, harness fitting, hose routing, potential failures, proper weighting, emergency procedures, and team protocols during emergencies. This mini specialty is an orientation for new side-mount divers to prepare for Essentials/Introduction to Technical Diving training and full technical courses like Cavern & Intro. to Cave or Helitrox Mixed Gas Diver.

Beginner certification or equivalent (Nitrox recommended)
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
~3 hours of classroom study and equipment rigging
3 hour pool session or day of open water diving
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Dual, independent cylinders with volume appropriate for planned dive, student gas consumption and proper side-mount configuration
Two independent first and second stage regulators (primary equipped with 7′ hose, 6″ HP hose with SPG and secondary equipped with necklace 2nd stage, BC LP inflator hose and 6″ HP hose with SPG)
Side-mount BCD system with power inflator
Dive computer and a backup depth and timing instrument recommended
